In addition to the topics covered in Fundamentals, data science and observational research advanced topics include identifying a good research question; matching research questions to research designs; observational study designs and threats to validity; data sources and measures including the electronic health record, registries, claims data, surveys, and contextual data; and prediction, simulation modeling, and cost-effectiveness overview.

By the end of this course, you will apply advanced knowledge in data science and observation research to draft a research proposal or project idea. This course is suitable for individuals with an MD, PhD, or equivalent degree. Apply skills in intervention and implementation research and learn alongside your peers with advanced lecture content and live, hands-on virtual study groups led by faculty group facilitators. Scholars who register for this 2-credit course will also be enrolled in Fundamentals of Healthcare Data & Delivery Science concurrently, earning a total of 3 graduate credits with a focus in Intervention and Implementation Research.

In addition to the topics covered in Fundamentals, intervention and implementation research advanced topics include identifying a good research question; matching research questions to research designs; community-engaged and multi-site participatory research; recruiting and retaining diverse populations; implementation strategies and designs; and implementation research adaptation, scalability, and sustainability.

By the end of this course, you will apply advanced knowledge in intervention and implementation research to draft a research proposal or project idea. This course is suitable for individuals with an MD, PhD, or equivalent degree.
